Who You Are
This is a senior position with 100% paid by equity until we get funds.
Blingy is in search of a backend engineer/developer to join us at an early stage. We are a startup company, building innovative solutions to resolve consumers’ pain points. You will work directly with the Back-end Development Leader to build an entire application's infrastructure.
You will be responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the mobile app. Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition, and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your colleagues into the application. A basic understanding of front-end technologies is therefore necessary as well.
Responsibilities
Building Backends with Django RESTful API
Building maintainable code and libraries for future use
Effectively collaborate with product teams and engineering professionals
Optimize the platform for faster execution and resolve scalability issues
Implement security & data protection practices
Experiment, architect, design and build APIs, data storage solutions, services & other engineering projects
Qualifications
Rest APIs and web services and WebSocket.
Data Modeling and writing optimal queries for either MySQL or PostgreSQL
Designing and building scalable and highly available software architectures
Fluency in backend technologies on top of Python: Django
Proficient knowledge of REST API design methodologies
Experience with automated testing platforms and code versioning tools such as Git
Basic familiarity with front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3)
Understanding of database administration, scripting, data migration & backup, authentication, authorization, and security compliance standards
Excellent command of algorithms and data structures, time and space complexity, distributed systems, and multi-threaded architectures
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
The English language is a requirement, and the ability to collaborate effortlessly over daily video calls with Back-end Development Leader.
Nice-to-Haves:
Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 4+ years of experience as a backend engineer/developer
Ability to think critically
Willingness to assist in designing the architecture and future direction of the project
AWS CloudWatch - Logging, metrics, and alarms
NoSQL databases and CI/CD workflows
